With hurricane season
only 2 months away, the Captiva Hurricane Preparation and
Response committee would like to invite you to sign up for
our e-newsletter and familiarize yourself with our website
– www.MyCaptiva.Info
This e-newsletter will
be your direct connection to all weather related news effecting
Captiva and Southwest Florida. Over the course of the year,
you will receive information about what is being done on Captiva
to continue to make our island as Storm Ready as possible
including home owner updates, important information from the
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Captiva Fire Department
and the Captiva Hurricane Preparation and Response Committee.
These emails will help you make sure your home and family
are Storm Ready and what you can do help us all prepare!
Then in the event of
a pending storm that could affect SW Florida and Captiva,
you will receive regular emails with all the details you need
to know about where the storm is heading and any measures
that local emergency services are taking. These emails will
be sent out as necessary to keep you up to date on the storms
progress and when combined with the website, will be your
best resource for how the storm is affecting the island and
what you need to do!
Then during and after
a storm, the website and newsletter will be filled with all
the information from Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Captiva
Fire Department and the Captiva Hurricane Preparation and
Response Committee needs to get out to the general public.
We will provide you with what need to know about how the island
fared, emergency services, information from the SSI (Structural
Safety Inspectors), FEMA, what is being done to help the island
recover and when you can get back out on the island.
We feel it is of vital
importance that everyone have this information so please take
